I made it home at 11PM last night. 600 miles or so.
The rain stopped before I hit Roanoke.
John and I split just before then.

Hope everyone made it home OK.

I really enjoyed the rides and meeting some new folks.

I just made it home (about 1:30 AM Tuesday morning).  Kris and her bike were safely at her place.  My bike is safely tucked away in my garage.

It was good riding with everyone!  Glad to meet some of you and good to see some of you again.

I'm tired and exhausted, I'm sure I'll have more to add later.

Ditto!! Inquisitive minds are anxiously awaiting a detailed report of this years event! I was packed for a week in advance but, alas... the rain never stopped here at home and weathermen called for thunderstorms and possible flooding in the hills of Carolina.
Bluntly put... "I wussed out" this year  Embarrassed
Camping and riding in the rain just ain't fun for me... personal hangup. Did look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones tho'.

BUT, that said, I watched the weather forecast day and night (yep, got up several times at night even to see if the forecast changed) and it looked like a washout on the weather radar.

I hope all went well for you brave souls who attended and that you all had miles and smiles of great riding and fun.
Regards,

Well we had a bit of everything, sun, rain, floods, mud, closed roads, beer, food, lots of riding,
great people and one 'oh shit' moment.

I can post some details after I get the OK from the party involved.

It was a total of 1636 miles for me. I really like the 1200S I just bought.

I should have posted this earlier, but I got home around 9 PM on Monday and we had jobs scheduled for Early Tuesday and today.

I surrendered to the elements and called it a day on Sunday after riding with Decman for about 100 miles or so.  My gear was still wet from the monsoon on Saturday night, the winds were picking up on the interstate and I was getting too cold.  I had hoped to go about 300 miles or so on Sunday, but I played it safe and stopped to dry my gear for the sunny weather and about 500 miles on Monday.

I left Dublin, VA at about 8:30 on Monday.  After my first fuel stop I had to put my (now dry) rain gear back on for the extra layer and wind-breaking merits of the gear.  It was a very picturesque day to ride, but breezy and cool.  I stopped in Mechanicsburg PA to pick up a shirt and get my contest entry form stamped, and I rolled into my driveway just before 9 PM.

Here are some thoughts I have so far on the weekend:

Thanks again to Gary for setting this up.  It was a great weekend of riding.  Even with the occasional downpour, I had a great time.

It's good to hear the updates so far, and I hope that everybody else is back home safe.  As some or most of you can imagine, it was a quite an "experience" for me to go back after my wreck last year.  I am a little disappointed in myself because I didn't ride the road I flew off this year, but every time I thought of it the conditions were less than ideal and I didn't want to tempt fate.

The Snake was I N C R E D I B L E !  The rides on Saturday made me realize that much of the riding I do in an around New Jersey is like sleep-walking compared to the twisties down there.

It was GREAT to see so many people again this year, I missed a few that couldn't make it, and I enjoyed meeting and riding with new people.  I hope to ride again with you all soon.

Glad that you finally made it home, or more so, posted that you did Smiley

I will definitely be in on next year's ride. (if there is one)  if Gary doesn't want to do it. I'm sure someone else might step up to the plate..

BTW , GREAT job Gary !!
